I take time off when I need it. I don’t work unpaid overtime. I protect my privacy and my peace and only respond to requests from my staff during certain hours. I work out and am focusing on my health (using my sick leave to get to doctor’s appointments I always put off before).

In many ways, my life is actually better, outside of work.

At work, it’s hell.

I usually can flip a switch and turn it off when I get in my car and leave. Sometimes I cry in my car on the way home and feel a bit hopeless. That’s when I realize I need a break, so I take some time off.

I fantasize about quitting, moving far away, and starting a small business. Often.

The debt ceiling was increased in the OBBB Act.

I'm not managing it. I move on auto-pilot and I try to be present for my family. I stick to a strict 40 hrs and my work cell is off as soon as I'm off the clock. I do try to get outside for time to just sit and clear my mind daily. Spending time with my children helps a lot. And I recently decided to try and write as a way to calm my mind.

I love to vacation plan but don't feel comfortable spending money so that is making me sad.

It makes me sad too, I really wanted to go on a big trip out west that we'd been saving for but didn't book plane tickets or hotels in time with the uncertainty. We went camping in the Adirondacks instead, which was super cheap and still amazing and worth it. It's a big region and you can still find somewhere new and special in driving distance. Do it!

I’ve been making an effort to spend more time with family and friends and not talk about work.

Do you think there will be a shutdown when they passed the big beautiful bill?

and just specific religious days?

We didn’t get further guidance. I basically said I wanted a quiet place to engage in prayer instead of commuting…. We will see…

The way I read it, it looks like you telework everyday if it made your religious practice easier?

That’s the way I read it. Gimme that old time religion….

I don’t have any unique tactics to share but appreciate this thread and knowing others are feeling similarly.
