Agree with Lifetime Gyms. The lounge, lobby area is attractive at mine and seems to be used as a WeWork space. Plus cafe and bathrooms and no excuse not to exercise.

Obviously, Starbucks is a pretty decent place to spend an hour-hour and a half nursing a beverage while tapping laptop keys, and the library lets you park there even longer, but where else is good?

Specifically looking in a zone roughly in Fairfax City <-> Oakton <-> Fair Oaks <-> Reston, but I would take recommendations for coffee places that aren't just Starbucks and general advice.

I wfh and my two elementary kids are home for the summer (they don’t like camp and it was exorbitant - I didn’t like it either). A few days a week I will go to one of the local university’s libraries - they have private study rooms that are very hushed and I can take my calls/do productive work with no distractions.

OP - this very much depends on the type of work.

Do you need to be on camera?
Do you need to speak often?
If/when you speak, are you expected to have a quiet background?
Do you discuss sensitive topics while on calls and need some amount of privacy?

If you're doing solo work all day, you can probably work from anywhere, but if you need time on camera/mic, then your options narrow dramatically.

But, you also need to consider things like food and bathroom breaks. If you need to use the bathroom, are you okay with packing up all your stuff and bringing it with you so nothing gets stolen?

All of the above is why wework and the like are popular options.
