Disagree. It varies with relationship.

Op here- I am a single mom and I'm worried that if I gave more notice, they would tell me to just finish out two weeks and be done. My new job pays once a month on the 30th so already my next check is going to be Sept 30th and that's a long stretch for me financially without getting paid.

In most states it’s illegal to pay employees only once a month. The usual/legal max is usually once every two weeks. Where are you?!

Really?

No. Not “most” states. But some states do have mandates for non-exempt vs exempt employees.

Agree. Trying to understand why OP is debating doing it during today's in-person one on one or via EMAIL (?!) tomorrow. You like your boss. You owe it to her to tell her face to face. Don't be a coward.

Why wouldn't you do C? Unless you are relatively junior, 2 weeks is semi unprofessional in my opinion

Anonymous wrote:Op here- thanks. Still the right call to "ruin" her well deserved vacation with half her team giving notice in the week before she leaves?

You giving notice with sufficient time isn’t ruining her vacay. Do what’s right.
