Having said that, some of you have a high bar. I don’t like amusement parks but six flags and Hershey are not dumps. Went to both last year and both were very clean and well run. Lifeguards were on point scanning constantly.

Other than Disney it's probably the nicest amusement park out there.
But, yes, most amusement parks are dumps—the whole industry sucks. But Hershey is one of the best of the genre.
You need to get out more! Hershey’s reached peak in 1995.
It may have peaked in 1995, but it's still a whole lot nicer than anything else but Disney.
What has changed since 1995 is that every single other amusement park (besides Disney) has been sold to private-equity... staff has been cut, cleanliness has been cut, investment in new features has been cut and prices have gone up.
Hershey chugs along, has added some pretty major new coasters, often looks to be overstaffed, is remarkably clean, etc... because it's owned by the company which is owned by the Milton Hershey School. It can't be sold, and as long as it makes the school money, they'll keep it going and keep investing in it.
