Subject: Honda transmission goes after 5 years
Is this due to Variable Cylinder Management? (The ECO mode that a PP mentioned.)
I have an Odyssey that had engine misfires at 56,000 miles due to issues caused by VCM. It ended up being covered by Honda but I read online about how other later modes weren't covered. I bought an aftermarket device to turn off Eco mode and things have been fine. Check online forums for your model and see if others have your issues and what they did about it.
