These were for very small parties because those aren't cheap!

These are great ideas- totally going to keep them in mind for DD’s parties!

These shirts are terrible! They just make the non invited kids feel left out.

I remember these shirts/hoodies even from when I was going to the mitzvahs more than 25 years ago. it always seemed the sole purpose was for all the kids who went to wear them on the Monday after to let everyone else know they weren’t invited.

Or they wore them as a memento of a fun time and weren’t thinking about people who weren’t invited.

The smallest ll bean totes are $30. That’s a ridiculous price for a favor.

It’s not ridiculous, it’s just not what you would do.

They WERE left out, because they aren’t friends. And at 13, nobody is friends with everyone! The shirts are fine, it’s the expectation that everyone gets invited to every party that’s not fine.

8 pack of crayola crayons in special colors (from eh $1 store), a tee ball, a pair of socks that went with the party theme.

1) a bucket of sidewalk chalk from the dollar store. It was ONE thing, fun and useful
2) a sugar cookie decorated in the party’s theme

These were my favorites because they didn’t clutter up my house!

Tote bags and boogie boards? Imo these are not favors but maybe I’m just not in that HHI.

Consumables are always good.

The hosts discreetly asked parents prior to the party: What charity/cause does your child care about?

Each guest was surprised upon departure to be handed an envelope. Inside? A beautiful card that identified a charity that had received a $100 donation in the guest’s name. And a note thanking them for coming to the party, being a friend and caring about animals/the earth/the community.

Kids were 12. Perfect age to understand it. They were all really inspired. Obviously, a wealthy host and not something everyone can do. But I loved it.

(And no junk or candy.)

Weirdly a squishy ball. My son played with his for years.
