If you can pick them up in advance, that would be one less item to deal with right before your guests arrive - take-out coffee won't stay hot for too long, and coffee which isn't hot is not really drinkable. While purists prefer to grind their own whole beans just before brewing, you could simplify things by buying pre-ground coffee, you just need to scoop a tablespoon per cup into the filter, fill the water tank with the correct amount of coffee, and press the start button. Borrow a second filter in case people want more - you can quickly make a second pot, if need be.
