What happens when a kid needs a bandaid?


That's their parents' problem. Kids can drown, have a medical issue, lots of reasons why they'd need pulled out of the pool.

Find a new pool. There should be someone in the chair monoriting everything. Some of the teens swimming are probably certified lifeguards. Are you sure there is no one for meets. That is really odd.

Oh no, how are they? We wanted to join the pool but our kid did a practice session there and the coaches and team were great but the pool wasn't very deep for diving and they were concerned about getting hurt. I hope that child is ok. Scarry.

You need to bring it up with the pool. If you are unhappy, change pools next year. The practices are almost over.

Don’t know anything about blocks at try outs as my kids hasn’t tried out in several years for a club team.

Have brought up concerns with coaches, reps and the board. They think everything is fine so I’m trying to go up and out. What agency oversees these pools? Is there really a county inspector that can check morning practices?

If your pool is not following this norm, I bet they soon will. There was a horrible incident this weekend at a morning swim practice at a Montgomery County pool club where a teen was seriously and permanently injured during a morning practice and I've heard that there were no guards present at that club's morning practices. Any pool who is not staffing guards at morning practices likely will because all the management companies are talking about this. It was a tragic incident and the kid could have died.

Our pool got reprimanded by the county inspector one year when they came during morning practice. We had no lifeguards other than the lifeguard certified coaches on duty at the time. They told us we need to have a lifeguard on deck at all times ready to save with a tube. We now have 2 lifeguards working every morning during AM practice times. So as it pertains to following MoCo rules, you need to have a lifeguard on duty who is not a swim coach.
