Girls was satire of the millenial brooklyn hipsters not an ode to them

I saw the first two episodes - juries out - acting seems good, characters less unlikable than in girls, writing good

She definitely has a perspective. I feel like we need more not fewer strong eccentric women in Hollywood. So I'm okay with her whether or not I like every little thing she does.

I agree with this. I find her generally “a lot” but I respect her non conformity to weight and/or beauty standards, in Hollywood, and agree we need more diversity of thought and experience, not less

+1

The hate aimed at any woman who dares not to try to look like a housewife is depressing.

The hate directed towards LD isn’t because of her appearance.

Agree and she seems sort of nonplussed about. She is gross

Her sister turned out lesbian as well, childhood sexual abuse is the most common reason for this. How does Lena have a freaking career after this? It’s insane.

Bonkers.

The main character of the show is like 25% annoying. I want to like it more than I do.
Excuse me, but did you just say that the "reason" for homosexuality is child abuse?

For anyone who enjoys Will Sharpe’s acting, I highly recommend Giri/Haji if you haven’t seen it yet. His did an amazing job with a standout role.

Thanks for the recommendation. I'm checking it out.

Anonymous wrote:So girls was very imperative for me when it came out. It was really kinda the anti SITC and geared towards the ugly transitional years of life. It was funny and self deprecating. But similar to SITC, it has a shelf life. And LD wants to continually be her character in Girls and at some point it looks and feels pathetic and dumb, when it use to be cute and somewhat insightful. This is now, the dumb and pathetic time is now. She needs a new angle.

Imperative??

She doesn’t need to be skinny, but she also doesn’t look healthy. I understand she has some chronic conditions but she’s obese and clearly isn’t taking care of herself

Spoilers

Finished it. What did you want to discuss? The meet-up with MJ? "Happy" endings? Heard Dunham did lose a couple geriatric pets.

He is a cutie for sure! Preferred this character over his White Lotus one.

Well, her sister say she didn't, so, maybe believe her?
