I would make sure you don't give your children free rein over Netflix, or at a minimum make sure you block all of the old Nickelodeon shows. My kids started watching Sam & Cat and OMG that show is AWFUL. I blocked it and all the other Nick shows, they were teaching the children awful lessons.
Yes, I HATE this show. The kids are so rude to adults and each other. I noticed a real difference in my DD's behavior when she was watching it.
SAME. Like a huge change, that's exactly why I blocked it. I feel like the damage has been done and we're working this summer on better manners and kindness before school starts up again because 4th grade is harsh and that attitude is the last thing she needs. I will not tolerate mean girl behavior and "sassiness".
Ugh, I’m sorry for this. Any shows you can recall to block or avoid?

Read the book Cinderella Ate My Daughter - it cites so many studies about how girls are affected by media exposure even a little bit. Studies show girls are still lagging behind in STEM despite the focus and my belief is that it has to do with their media consumption.

Strange tastes for a 9-year-old, but it's her TV hour!
