If your plan was a man, but your man is no longer around and the alimony stops, who pays your bills?

I think this is the answer. They’re still among the most attractive women in their peer group.
Ok, but trophy wife implies the husband is rich. The 50 year old who is hot compared to other 50 year olds is still not going to compare to the 25 year old her rich husband can snag.
Not every guy wants to marry an attractive younger woman (google Jeff Bezos). Some prefer a partner who is at a similar place in life.
Exactly. Wealthy men like to have social lives and their businesses sometimes require it. They don’t want the kind of unstable and likely unsavvy type of 25 year old who would be attracted to them. It might be different for the entertainment industry but a 55 year old law partner or executive does not want a messy 25 year old to be in charge of dinner parties with the clients. Because don’t doubt it - being the wife of a rich guy involves that kind of work even if she is not doing the actual cooking and cleaning. She’s doing the organizing and hosting and needs to be able to talk to the other wives.
Will he bang a 25 year old, sure. Marry - probably not.
