Post 07/01/2025 19:28     Subject: Why can't people speak out against Israel/IDF?

I think this is in reference to Bob Vylan inciting the crowd at the Glastonbury music festival into a "Death, death to the IDF" chant.

That's a little different than criticism of Israel's policy of colonizing the West Bank with 700,000 right wing orthodox nutcases - which I believe Israel should totally be sanctioned and isolated for. But progressives always seem to go deep into the anti-Semitism and a wish for the death of Israelis. It's not something you can logically counter. I think it's very reasonable to ban people propagating that kind of hate from entering the US. They are not here for a chitty-chat. And listening to interviews with Bob Vylan - he's just another deeply ignorant moron lost in his social media idiocy. I suspect he's never read a book in his life. He's a genuine dumbass.

Some very reasonable solutions have been put forth in congress - like you should disclose if you possess foreign citizenship while running for office. I wonder if that will help us elucidate some things...

Nice try, OP.
This rapper led a cheer yelling “death, death to the IDF.” He encouraged thousands to join in.
I suppose had he led a chant yelling “death, death to the Palestines” you would feel the same way?

Looks like he FAFO.

Israelis chant death to America but are still allowed in this country.

They chant death to Christians too

There are plenty of Israeli singers who are on video singing about death to Gaza (Rinat Bar) or like the lovely Israeli singer Peretz who has a song titled “May your village burn”. But they are Israelis and nobody bats an eye if they sing about the death of Palestinians.

Listen. I’m sure there are plenty of examples of extreme rhetoric and hate speech on both the Israeli and Palestinian sides IN Israel and Palestine. Those are the directly impacted parties. The rhetoric on the Palestinian side is MUCH worse by orders of magnitude based on what I’ve seen, but setting that aside.

Have you ever seen a massive crowd IN THE WEST shouting DEATH to anyone before? I certainly haven’t. That’s not a thing that’s considered compatible with western values. Unless, apparently, Israel/Jews are involved. Why is that?

Yes. Lots of times. Have you been outside at any rally? I’ve heard death to cops during 2020 and lots of other crazy things during protests. Madonna threatened to blow up the White House at the women’s March. Many people scream for death or destruction during protests. Rallies or protests are magnets for the crazies/fringe. In Israel during Pride month before 10/7, death to Arab and death to lgbt rallies were hosted by Ben Gvir , the minister of national security and grand Marshall of ceremonies.

I know plenty of MAGA who would kill brown hispanics if they could get away with it. The antisemitism is happening here because we have the second largest population of Jews outside of Israel.

The “death to the IDF” chant happened at the Glastonbury festival. There are like, five Jews in Scotland lol.

I live in the US though.

One of the signs of a collapsing economy and society is visible antisemitism. This was going to happen regardless of Gaza. When people are pissed off and want answers, they do research

Had us in the first half ngl. But then you went full antisemite.

Have come to*

I’ve said for years here, Trump codes anti semitism by using sycophants like MTG, Bannon, and others and uses them against Zionists and neocons just like a reality show/how he loved playing folks against each other with The Apprentice. There’s a civil war brewing among his administration and MAGA between the warmongers, neocons, evangelical Israel firsters and the isolationist traditional MAGA/right wingers.

Trump is dangerous because he exploits and loves divisions

So "death to the Palestinians" is ok? Because all of Hamas are Palestinians, as have been all the members of other terror groups. Or is it "rules for thee but not for me" when it comes to Palestinians but nobody else?

Nice try but your argument might have been valid if you said death to Hamas. Or maybe you're in agreement with the IDF that all Palestinians are Hamas and therefore must be eliminated including women and children. I mean we just learned, to no one's surprise, that the IDF has been ordered to shoot and kill starving Palestinian civilians waiting in line for food.
