Greece in general has tons of history, you'll miss so many interesting places if you focus too much on museums in Athens.
Why are you assuming learning about Athens only involves museums? What are the best places in Greece for those who love history?

For reference I was not a fan of crowded and busy Rome. I don't usually like big cities (except I love Paris) so I didn't leave much time for Athens and wished I had!
