This is such a strange statement. I follow plenty of high end designers on IG and truly wealthy people. Not Kardashain wealthy, but true old money wealth. Many of them have stained cabinets.

For example - Annie Meyer’s house “this oak house” on IG. She has impeccable taste and the money to go along with it. Painted cabinets.

I do not know any old money with painted cabinets, except in a summer beach cottage. Stained hardwood cabinets are all I see in their main homes.

I’m confused what you’re talking about. What’s the different between a painted cabinet and stained hardwood cabinet?

With stained cabinets you still see the wood grain

With painted, you see the paint.

I’ve seen plenty of high end homes then with painted cabinets. Perfectly smooth cabinets.

You’re full of it with your comments about cabinets. Even high end homes these days don’t have 100% hardwood cabinets because they aren’t as durable and don’t look as nice.

if one is planning to move in the next 0-5 years, then consider resale. if living in a home long term, then do what makes one happy.

I’m a big fan of choosing the right color style for the space. If I had a very large space I would do wood stained or blue cabinets. Our kitchen however is smaller, in the middle of the house, opens to a verge family room. High ceilings everywhere except the kitchen. We went with white to brighten it up and did taller up cabinets mounted higher with vertical pulls. I’m pleased and shocked about what a difference it makes. The room looks so much bigger.
