Funny this topic came up, my sister was saying tonight how she doesn’t see what all the beautiful women see in the celebrity Pete Davidson. She thinks he is ugly and annoyingly untalented/unfunny.
I happen to think he is very adorable.

When I was dating, I didn’t worry too much about looks, but I was VERY picky about good character. I ended up with a very kind husband, which was the goal.

I’ve dated guys my friends don’t think were hot. Sometimes it’s confidence/attitude or intellect or any other combo of other attractive qualities.

And as much as dcum obsesses over women’s looks I know a couple guys who married less physically attractive women. One who was great at a shared interest (rock climbing) and one who just has an extremely kind and sweet overall vibe.

People marry for many reasons but generally they stay in their own lane.

Everyone likes different things OP. I like stocky guys and fortunately my dh likes larger women.

To me, obese old men with younger hot wives seems to be more common. Men tend to buy sex and affection more often than women.

Probably those wives were thin and pretty before they had to carry, birth and raise his kids and juggle stress of work and house and parenting for sake of the family. May be there is no time, stamina and money left to join gym and go to spa.

It’s called compatibility and a person on the inside can be more attractive as you know them like smarts and humor and compassion - are you really that shallow?
