I think everyone on DC Urban Mom is pulling for Arlington to bring home that natty!
Nobody cares really. It is a kids tournament with kick and run style and few days vacation together which is good for kids socially . I have got club World Cup to watch real soccer. You guys too invested in this thinking you are going to a World Cup. lol. How much is the prize money for the winner?
It's a great way for sports obsessed parents to waste even more money by flying across the country, paying for hotels, meals etc. only so they can post to their instagram accounts that their uber-talented progeny is playing in NATIONALS. Better to light your money on fire, but then what could they brag about on their socials?

Regarding National Playoffs, rosters freeze May 1st. After May 1st you may add 2 new players, provided they have committed to your club for the new club season and are released from their clubs.
Clubs releasing players can get held up for multiple reasons: the teams is still in season or the player owes the club money. Most clubs release without issue as long as the player leaves in good standing.
Kids on the current roster, even if they are not returning (choosing to leave or cut from the team) for the new club year, are eligible to go to Nationals. Most players, who are leaving, don't want to invest any more time or money into their current teams and chose not to attend.
Speaking of unethical, it's "disgusting" when coaching staff poach or influence players from one ECNL club to leave for another.
This sounds like it is coming from someone in charge of a club. Disgusting is a strong word? What does poach or influence mean? Sounds like if your club was doing a good job then players would not want to leave? Look in the mirror much?
This was definitely Kevin James from FVU. He used the exact words “good standing” and “poach” when trying to block one of my daughter’s teammates from leaving.
Boys side of coaching. We heard that terminology thrown around by coaches at loudoun/nva and fvu over the years. Its more protective posture talk as they all poach and there is no honor in the beltway when it comes to getting talent
"Poach" is definitely implying that players should feel a commitment to a club that a club doesn't need to have to the player. Kids generally want to stay with their team unless there's a problem. The thumb is always on that side of the scale rather than going into an unknown. But if a player feels that they don't have the right fit, aren't being used or developed properly, etc., why shouldn't they go to another team?

Seeing that he is a boys coach, how did he get a say in your daughter's choices?
