I don’t think op was intentionally gaslighting. They are just genuinely uninformed, to put it nicely.

If he didn't listen to Stephen Miller, he would be on the winning side of this issue, but since cruelty is the point, it's not the number of people being deported, but how horrible you can be.

This. Obama made churches, schools and hospitals off limits. Miller wants to see young kids being dragged out of schools with all the little kids crying.

Obama avoided family separation while Miller seeks it.

Obama didn’t violate court orders and grab people without due process and then ship them to a death camp. Miller wants anyone brownie dead.

Obama didn’t revoke legal status from immigrants, Miller did.

Miller is a weak, evil, impotent, little weasel. He’s the guy that ends up being caught as a serial killer with cat and human body parts in his garage freezer. Neighbors will all say he seemed a little off!

Obama put kids in cages and executed American citizens with drones without a trial.

But it’s all peachy when a president drones an American citizen and his kids without due process because he’s on our team, right?

You are misremembering the response to the drone strikes. Is that intentional?

Trump cowered in a corner of The White House watching TV and ignoring pleas for the Commander-in-Chief's help for three hours as a mob of hundreds forcefully breached security at the US Capitol and chased our most prominent lawmakers to the basement while seeking to hang them.

This makes Trump a Coward-in-Chief and puts him on an island of awful all by himself. Even Biden would have woken up from his nap and immediately picked up the phone in that situation. Obama and all presidents before him would have made the one mile trip to the Capitol Building to fight off the attackers themselves. Imagine how much ass GW or Andrew Jackson would have kicked in that situation?? That's what Commanders-in-Chief do. Trump disgraced the POTUS position.

How many legal immigrants, accused of zero crimes, simply awaiting asylum hearing did Obama send to a horrific prison in El Salvador? I

And then Miller and the DHS official X account have the balls to LIE and say that detentions have not happened at schools. Total BS. I've seen multiple videos over the last few weeks of ICE detaining graduating seniors as they walked the stage or as they were lining up to enter the graduation venue. You can't tell us something didn't happen when we saw the proof with our own eyes. We saw the Principal arguing with ICE that they couldn't enter the school during graduation without a ticket as a last ditch effort to keep them out. We have the reports from school admins who refused to let ICE into the elementary school for "welfare" checks.

It's fair to throw mud at Biden for the actions he took early in his term to remove band-aid laws that were in place to secure the border but trying to throw mud at Obama by suggesting his approach to deportations was the same as Trump's approach is utter ridiculousness.

Leave Obama out of it. This is Trump and Biden's mess and at this point, it's mostly Trump's mess!

Exactly. He controls the executive branch and his party has a majority in the House and the Senate. If not now for meaningful GOP-led immigration reform, then when?

If Congress doesn't pass meaningful long term immigration reform by 2028, immigration will be more of a problematic issue for the GOP in 2028 than it was for the Dems in 2024. Trump failed to come through on his number one campaign promise during his first term. If he wants to salvage any positive legacy whatsoever, he needs to convince the GOP led Congress to act. Considering Trump's poor leadership skills, I have my doubts but for the country's sake, I hope Congress comes through.

Even as a Senator, Obama pushed for a border wall or fence. He criticized Pres Bush for being an amnesty president

He’s very tough on illegal immigration.

We had real presidents prior to January 2017.

He was also a high IQ individual who could communicate to the American people in a very effective manner. Trump and Biden are clearly not the on the same level as Obama as far intelligence goes and their communication skills are horrid. American fell off a cliff going from Obama to Trump.
