I'm the immigrant PP who made a post and responded several times about the importance of denouncing violence on both sides and reestablish norms against political violence that BOTH parties and their supporters are eroding. It's astonishing to see how many Americans seem to think they'll be less dead, impoverished, wounded, and traumatized in a civil war or sustained insurrection if they can claim it's all the other side's fault. You are all hacking at the rope you're dangling on while arguing the fraying is someone else's fault.

It really helps me understand how all the people and factions who could have prevented my birth country's civil war failed to do anything beyond score political points against each other until it all exploded. Tribalism and partisanship create such blindness, spite, and denial.

No one wants everyone walking around strapped, even if it is their right.
