They need the metal detectors, mode SRPS, more security guards, a process for students to report bullying and harassment and violence, and more supervision around bathrooms.

That's why cops are needed at the schools along with the security screenings.

There is no way logistically to move 2500 kids individually thru 2 metal detectors taking out their laptops, notebooks etc in the 20 minutes between unlocked school doors and the late bell.

My kid hasn't mentioned it, and she is the type to complain about things making her late. I haven't heard neighbors complain either.

My child's school has done it every day for weeks and since she takes the bus, she has 10+ tardies. Except one day, when it was raining, they didn't do it.

Nope, I asked, they had them hand over their laptops and phones and waived them through the scanner.

This was long overdue.

I don't think my kids school has had it yet.

Lack of planning yields poor results. Totally a predictable outcome with FCPS.

^^Especially since TJ is such a small school., they should have the fewest issues with long lines.
