OP here. He will be in Argentina for ten to train 1:1 with a personal trainer and a retired professional soccer player. He will have an additional week of training if he does not have to go to school next week. He also expresses his desire not to go to school next week.

My kid (seventh grade) had a quiz yesterday and another on Monday. They are still learning at that school!

I thought all of the fcps muddle schools do some kind of 8th grade celebration. All the schools in our area do something.

The kids will be in the classroom with no electronics, no movies, nothing except the books they bring to school with them.

10/10
What sets it apart is that they’re pondering this choice two days in advance. Should I send Larlo to school on Monday, or should I send him to Argentina?

Kilmer said we could take them home after if we wanted and mine said she wants to go Monday- Wed since friends will be split at different high schools next year. So that’s why she’s going. It’s a bittersweet time and she feels it’s the last time to see some of these kids. Many are going to Marshall, Madison or private schools.
This is frustrating. Our FCPS MS goes to a bunch of different HS and they aren;t doing any kind of ceremony
