If you want to talk affordable healthcare for ALL, not tied to employment, then we can talk about a sliding scale where some don’t pay.

160 million federal tax payers would stop having to pay and subsidize the health care of nearly 11 million Americans.
Why should they?
Who pays the bill when an uninsured person shows up in the ER?
The wealthy, since half the country doesn't pay income tax

But if we pay higher prices to healthcare orgs, I guess that makes people happy?
Yup crowd the ERs with people who lack health insurance and could have been treated much cheaply with appropriate regular care
100%
Uninsured sick people don't go to a PCP or even Urgent Care - they go to the ER. Because they know that they can't be turned away at the ER if they have no money.
And then what happens? Small, easy things that PCPs could have found and fixed grow into larger, more expensive problems.
Don't care.
That’s because you have the intelligence of a mole rat, and people making rational arguments are beyond your abilities. As a taxpayer I care about MAGA destroying health care for 10 million people.
Maybe those people will finally wake up and vote for universal healthcare for all.
Maybe. Otherwise they will lose most medical services in their area because very few people will be able to afford them.

If these people include those who are able-bodied individuals and have been benefiting from free health insurance, they need to get off their duffs and get a job, volunteer, or do something productive.
And, as for the illegal aliens - they need to be deported to seek health care in their home countries.

? the ER doesn't get paid for by taxpayers. The cost is passed on to people with insurance.
Fedgov pays 2/3rds of it all.

I don’t understand why tax paying US citizens can access the cheaper rates and cheaper healthcare.
I think the discounts should go to those employed and those that are working and trying.
Just FYI, the American Rescue Plan and Inflation Reduction Act eliminated the income limit. Instead, you can get a subsidy if the cost of the second lowest cost Silver plan is more than 8.5% of your adjusted gross income. So you probably have been eligible for a subsidy for the last few years.
DP. This really isn’t something people should have to figure out to get healthcare.
Repeal and replace, with universal healthcare and watch the cost of care drop.
This.
There are a lot of entrenched interests in the current system, but it’s expensive and inefficient and ineffective. We spend more and have worse outcomes.
Yep. Burn.It.Down.
