All these posters claiming it’s so easy to get a B+ in every Kelley pre-req class are not clued into the standards at Kelley. These are tough, weed out classes and you are required to get a B+ in every single one, not a B+ average…two very different things. Zero room for a bad professor, tough final etc.
Yes, it is difficult. But they already have so many people who met the direct admission requirements, there isn’t that much space left. Most of the students are direct admits. This is known going in.

Really? Just curious. My DD is applying this year for Fall 2026 admission. I've always thought most kids get Standard Admit but I could be wrong.
Yes. Each class has about 2500 kids and they fill about 2000 of those through DA.
From Poets and Quants: “In a typical year, Kelley will enroll about 2,000 undergraduate students and then add another 500 to 600 through transfers during sophomore year.”
From Kelley’s website: “Our current incoming Direct Admit class includes 2,043 students.”

Your reading comprehension and math skills indicate that a 3.3 would have been a struggle for you. The requirement is all B+ or better. A 3.3 GPA that all B+ gets the job done but 3.8 GPA with a B does not. See the difference?
DP here. The difference is clear. Bottomline, Kelley wants to make sure the Standard Admit students have a strong foundation in all subject areas, not just a few.
I think that it's dirty business to update requirements after students have accepted. On the flip side, IU pretty much has open admissions, so they clearly need a way to maintain standards. Even direct admission isn't what I would consider overly onerous for the ranking of the business school.
