We have 3 kids who are big tennis players, and the amount of time and money we spent driving them around the beltway to various coaches, cancelled lesson bc of weather in the winter, etc. was enormous. Now they play year round at our club, there are great indoor facilities and the coaches and clinics are much better priced than we were playing elsewhere. We also end up eating there after tennis a ton, and the food is good and cheaper than a restaurant. Sure there are some weird families where their entire being and social life seems to revolve around “the club”, but we weren’t friends with them before joining and aren’t socializing with them now, so who cares what they do.
My swim and tennis club has this minus 3 months out of the year. They can do an indoor clinic for the 3 months. They aren't elite but we pay a lot less and there are just as many kids that do tennis.
