It's not much further than where they go now which is Seneca Valley.

Yeah I don’t know why on earth MCPS thinks so many split articulated ESs are ok?

It's because they didn't scope in ES to the study. Had they done that, it could have been fixed!

Yeah - but given that they didn't scope in ES, I think they have to (or at least should) work around existing elementary boundaries rather than completely ignoring them when drawing middle and high school boundaries.

I am having a very hard time looking at these maps. Maybe it’s because I’m on my phone. Is there any change to the Laytonsville articulation pattern?

I think the interactive map is the easiest to understand. On the left side, you can search by address if you are interested in a certain area. And on the right side, there's a way to select what you want to see (option 1/2/3, middle vs high school, etc).

Me. I really do not want my kids to change school at 10th grade. Will the new school even have the courses they can take?

Check out the Woodward study (option 3). That’s what they are considering for Chevy Chase and Farmland.

Both option 2 and 4 create too many split articulations. They should not even be the options.

These are not the final options, they are very preliminary looks at possibilities. There will be more options in the fall.

Applications for the new regionalized programs will begin in January 2026, for the 2026-27 school year.

That's separate from the boundary study. The new boundaries will begin phasing in in Fall 2027.
