Consider an MRI-guided biopsy. Otherwise, your urologist is hunting (i.e., taking samples) without a map. With the guided biopsy, your doctor has a much better idea of where to look.

It is slow motion. But just take week by week.

It does seem surreal as you go through this "journey" but be present enough to keep those appointments for your DH and yourself. You sound like you're on the right path, but don't skip your own mammogram, dentist, colonoscopy, dermatologist, etc. Wishing you good health.

Friend, same age, was diagnosed and had surgery earlier this year. Hang in there OP.

FWIW he should get the colonoscopy before any surgery. He won't be in the mood later on.
I got one a bit early just to get it done before my breast surgery.

OP sorry the path is not where you hoped but the process is in motion to get the best results possible.
Don't neglect your own health this year either.

OP, I'm sorry you're dealing with this but a biopsy is the only way to know for sure.

Is PSA measured and included by routine blood work for men?

OP here. Quick update.
Urologist did exam felt mass which was hard and on one side. Ordered one more psa. If psa is high again they will go right to biopsy. If psa is normal they will do scan only at this point. Doc being neutral and not making assumptions without results. But he did say biopsy was likely and asked if he wanted a sedated procedure if we go down that route. Yes to Sedation.

Waiting on the other set of psa, before next step.
