I'd be fine with that as a parent. There are posters who seem to think every Potomac parent is a highly educated big law partner. There are plenty of people who went to random colleges. Have you never spent time at a large company before? My boss went to JMU and probably makes around 300k.

Huge # going to UVA, Wake Forest, W&M, and surprisingly many going to W&L. Here's the list for Virginia schools:
College of William & Mary (18)
George Mason University
James Madison University (3)
Marymount University
Northern Virginia Community College
Old Dominion University
University of Mary Washington (2)
University of Richmond (2)
University of Virginia (30)
Virginia Commonwealth University
Virginia Tech (6)
Virginia Wesleyan University
Washington and Lee University (11)
Parents could have enrolled their kids at Langley or McLean with the same or better results. This is also for 4 years.
Bingo. Or even better come out to Loudoun. We have similar UVA/WM numbers.
No, you don't.
I assure you our mediocre, run of the mill public high school sends 7-8 kids to UVA each year. Sorry you wasted all that money.
Now run the percentages rather than the number of individuals.
I would expect better admissions statistics from a $200k private school. I wonder what would be the most effective use of $200k to maximize elite college admissions: attending a top NOVA public school while spending $200k on tutors, private counselors, test prep, and extracurriculars, or spending that $200k on tuition at Potomac School. The truly wealthy families at Potomac are probably doing both.

The families at Potomac are likely considering the entire data set and not a cherry picked fact about in state schools.

Looks pretty good to me. About 120 in the senior class on average. 120 x 4 years of data = 480. That means 21.67% of that 480 went to a highly ranked school EXCLUDING UVA, which is a great school and there have been lots of Potomac admits going there.
If I add in UVA, it's 31.90% of the students from the last 4 years went to the above listed schools + UVA.

Or even JMU or CNU. What a waste of money.
No one in the last 4 years has gone to CNU from Potomac. And only 3 to JMU. But sure, let’s all find more pearls to clutch.

If you take out all the FARMS kids who didn't even apply to 4 year college, our percentage would be higher. Our school is 50% FARMS.

OP didn’t post the full list. Just VA schools for some weird reason.
She linked it and many of us clicked the link. Considering it's 4 years of data, it's shocking how many schools only have 1 student attending.

UVA and WM prefer private school kids. Sorry.
Why are you sorry? My kids are already in, and what you said isn't even true. It's actually easier to get in from "diverse" public high schools - this is pretty well known.
