Professors are just like any other middle class family, and I'm sure they submit the parents financial statement for financial aid. They scrimp, go without, and apply for financial aid just like the rest of us. Whether they get $500 or $5000, every penny counts.

GMU professor. DS first went to FCPS public school. Pulled him after 1st grade after we witnessed complete lack of basic math knowledge in his teacher. He now goes to Pinecrest.

We have at least 4 professor parents I can think of, offhand, at Sheridan. Professors are everywhere.

Nysmith isn't a genius school. Nova AAP and TJ are better and attract many smart professors' kids.

Prof here. Kids at CHDS. Law prof + history prof. No family $. 2 tuitions means driving older cars, not splurging on vacations, etc., but no huge hardship.

I'm a professor. Of my colleagues with kids in private school, one has a kid in Catholic School, one at JPDS, one at Gesher, one has two kids at Sidwell, and one has his kids in the "genius" school in Virginia (NySmith). Of the professors with older kids, two sent their kids to Charles E. Smith Jewish Day School, and another sent hers to Catholic school. Another colleague sends his kid to one of the privates in DC, but I can't remember which one.

Public or GDS.

My friends are sending their child to JPDS.
