The French Proverb:

"Qui vole un oeuf, vole un boeuf",

literally translated to: "He who steals an egg, will steal a bull". Meaning, someone who steals something small is capable of stealing something big and cannot be trusted.

I don't know if it's an Irish saying but my Irish grandmother used to say:

"A healthy man wants a thousand things; an ill man wants one."
