Neat bun. Nice neutral colored t-shirt (plain, no logos). I have a stack I cycle through. A classic necklace I always wear. And a structured black cardigan that lives in my office in case it’s a meeting with important people. Neutral lipstick and that’s it. I’m not putting on makeup, sorry. May well be wearing yoga pants and slippers, but you’d never know it.

I'm American and I don't understand how people can feel good dressing so poorly. I grew up poor though, but my mother was always adamant about looking nice in public. I've taught my children the same.

I am American and will probably always be underdressed for the occasion, because nothing looks good on me and I’m poor, so figure I may as well be comfortable.

Tech. When I’m on camera, I wear a lot of dark sweaters, quarter zips, and long sleeve tees in dark or neutral colors. So it’s comfortable but on camera it looks reasonably tidy.

I read it as Chief of Staff TO THE CEO.

Maybe she was a server at high end restaurant, which to me is something I prefer to see on a resume over almost anything else. I am a partner in a PE/holding company.
Maybe she was nurse, maybe she volunteered around the world in something she passionate about as her own style of training. Maybe she was in the military and stayed abroad in country with limited professional opportunities.

People have different paths, I don't even have a HS degree and am very successful.

It depends on company. My last super hyper focused start up the CEO and whole company was focused on work no BS.

I had meeting people in PJs, people rarely shaved. Women in bathing suits, people hair standing up.

My current place we have lots of Wine and Beer drinkers in late afternoon meetings.

You plan a meeting during happy hour or 4 pm on a Holiday weekend Friday or 5 am on a Tuesday you get what you get.

My start up the CEO would not shave, wear a tshirt and jeans and looked like rarely brushed hair for big meetings. He was busy working. When I started there I realized quickly a black hoodie or tshirt and unsaven with pajama pants or shorts was dress code when home and in office. Not much better.
