Here's the thing, if it was really about security, it would be required for everyone at all events at the schools. They aren't planning to have these at Back to School night, Football games, Volleyball games, Spring musical, Art show, community use, etc. It is just for show. Teachers do not have to go through, they just use another door.

Nonsense. Any kid who wants to smuggle anything into school will simply go around the metal detectors. They only have them at one door and only operating during arrival. This is security theater and punishes all the kids for no reason.

My son's swiss army knife was not detected BTW.

My westfield kid said it took an hour yesterday and she was late to class. Today she said 45'minutes. She was given tardies. She rides the bus.

Westfield admin sent a text at MIDNIGHT talking about what a success it was.

What a clown show.

I'm all for safety but this seems like checking a box. My son said his teacher was teaching by the time he got in-40 mins after the bell. What happens when they have a test in first period?
