That is a good description of the previous administration's immigration policy. And how this forum reacted to it.

I was just coming here to ask the same question. Do not understand why these people don’t care that registration is so unbelievably childish and is driving an agenda based on perceive wrongs and slights and getting back at people like an eight year-old child. Or six-year-old child! How did we become this and why is this what people want?

Since the election, I have not seen Trump or the GOP even pretend to care about their blue-collar base. When will they realize this? They are blatantly doing everything to protect and benefit the ultra-wealthy without even a facade of caring about the poor and middle class.

What I see in comment sections is basically, “Yeah, but border crossings are way down.” They have convinced their base that undocumented immigrants are the source of all their problems. If we deal with that, everything will be big better. They pay no mind to the fact that this has always been an issue and a very complicated one - due to the foundational rights and liberties of this country. They pay no mind to the ways we benefit from these immigrants. They have no idea what the process of migrating to America entails or the horrors they are escaping. They just associate brown people with the words “illegal” “undocumented” “alien” and that’s all it takes to get them in an absolute tizzy. “Just the fact that they are here makes them criminals!” This alone, in their mind, justifies any and all repercussions.

We need to quit letting football coaches teach social studies.

Not when maga has to either pay for their meemaw care out of pocket or quit their job to take care of aforementioned meemaw. That’s going to hurt.

They should be held responsible. A tribunal in 2029 will find out how much they knew and what they failed to do, and prison time for all who did nothing.
