+1 We experienced similar for all ES years after the SOLs, little was taught. Lots of movies occurred across the Specials and classrooms. After awhile, the teachers were told they could only play shorter 30 minute films so no one could call it ‘movies’ anymore. But, they would play the 30 min films back to back anyway. There was a remarkable drop off in instruction after the SOL.Anonymous wrote:Elementary. Just filling time. Movies. Field day. End of year party. POGPOL nonsense. Short films. Cartoons. Magic school bus. Games. No lectures. Checked out.

I think they’re starting long division and multiplication, but probably won’t get too far in it given the holiday weekend coming up. I think they might have one more benchmark test as well at some point. There will also be a spelling bee, field day, and an end of the year party the last week of school. It does feel like running out the clock a bit …
Spelling bee? Our was done earlier in the year. Which school if I may ask?
