Only 2 American manufacturers - 4 ford and 10 Chevrolet. Ford will be 6 or 7 this year and Chevrolet will be out of the top 15. Ford will lose more sales in China and the rest of the world. 49% of Ford’s sales are outside of the US. Chevrolet also sells a lot of cars outside the US.

The most expensive new Cadillac is the 2025 Celestiq, which starts at around $340,000. It's a hand-built, ultra-luxury electric car designed to compete with brands like Rolls-Royce and Bentley.

The 2025 Escalade IQ sells for like 150k to 160K.

I have a Cadillac. I was chatting at dealer and the guy at the Jim Coleman Dealer who said the rich drive Porsches, BMWs and Mercedes but the rich are Driven in Cadillacs.

As he was saying that a CEO's Limo driver was picking up a new Escalade to drive his boss in.

I bought my used one off him at a good deal and it was 40k and he just let me hand him a check and off I drove. As if not may people finance. Really? My Caddie was 52k new and only 18 months old with 9k miles and I think I got a deal. That was last summer before Tarriff nonsense.

I think foreign car buyers have no clue how expensive they are.

He had a few CT5-V Blackwings on lot that were marked sold. They are like 100k out the door.

My 40k used car purchase was a joke to him. I mean I love my car. But the place is selling 100K cars all day, 40K seems little after awhile.

It always reminds me of the end scene in Cars where the large SUV with low profile rims cries “I’ve never been off road!”

DP. I have elementary aged kids and I know zero people with those cars. The families with three kids virtually all have Siennas.


I'm in Arlington and have seen maybe 1 minivan on our street. Like the PP, most families have Navigators, Expeditions, Escalades, etc or the X5.

Do people not have many kids in your neighborhood? It seems like anyone with 2 kids and a dog or 3 kids have larger SUVs than what you descibe above. Audis and BMWs with 3rd rows are very cramped, and none of the others you mention have a 3rd row, w the exception of Lexus.

Lincoln Navigators are very expensive. You might see more if they were less expensive.

Escalades seem to be becoming more common as the family hauler.

Suburbans, Expeditions, Yukons = all pricey.

This. Assembling it in the US is more relevant to me than where the brand is headquartered.

Meanwhile, all the US-HQ brands import parts, and many assemble outside the US. For example, a ton of Chevys are assembled in Mexico and imported to the US.
