BC has as many CS majors as English majors. Let that sink in if you think its CS program is any good.

Keep dreaming. W&M accepts fewer early decision applicants, even though the number they do accept is high. BC is an overpriced mid school that is having trouble keeping up with other Boston schools. For the OP, BC is way late to the CS game and it is a niche major there. They massively misread CS/engineering. When you have priests in charge you aren't exactly on the cusp of innovation and change.

DC's school sends multiple kids a year to BC and none are "B+ Catholics." At least two A students with 1500-ish SAT were rejected this year (that I know of). It's a step down the prestige ladder from ND, but not an average student landing spot.

That said, WM's in-state tuition is a value that would be difficult to pass up vs BC full pay.

Reality check BC rankings are at best stagnant and are not rising. It is a Catholic version of Wake Forest.

First question is money. Do you have a ton? If so it changes the answer. If 90k a year is nothing to you either because it is saved already or you are rich or high income then BC is the answer hands down. On the other hand if the above is not accurate go instate to W&M. You mean 28% a little over 1/4?

Facts. BC is ranked #37. 75% submitted test scores for the class of 2029. Average SAT was over 1500. Yes, it's expensive, especially compared to a state school. Case Western reports a COA at $92,130.

BC has a conservative Catholic vibe while the other 2 are not religious. W&M has beautiful historic campus.

My main concern about W&M is that most of the graduating kids land up in Federal/Consulting type role at Big 5 body shops like EY or Deloitte.

Location is a big factor driving outcomes for W&M.

For that reason, I would consider Boston location - though I am not familiar with their CS/Data Science program - which BTW - is only average at W&M (its good - but not as strong as their Econ/Law/Business programs)

W&M then Case then BC. W&M and Case have stronger academics and both command more respect and prestige. BC is nothing special and way overpriced.

Our student was admitted to all three plus a few more. With larger merit offers at other schools, BC turned out to be too expensive.

My kid considered and visited all three. He decided to drop Case, which is academically strongest among those three, because he did not like Cleveland. I don’t understand the BC hate here. Great school, gorgeous campus, strong alumni network, great location, and happy kids. What is the issue?

Sincere question….how is this B+ thing true? Is it because many don’t submit test scores? The CDS says 95% were in top 10% of class. Doesn’t that indicate top students? Thank you!
