Carla Hayden was the Librarian of Congress. She was abruptly fired today by a president who likely lacks the capacity to even understand the intricacies of her job. Hayden was well-respected in her prior role heading the Enoch Pratt library system in Baltimore. She brought her competence and enthusiasm with her to the LoC.
Trump — and those who write the Executive Orders for him to sign, seem determined to create a new Dark Ages for the rest of us while they revel in plundering the resources of our nation.

Not if the house is already clean.
Which it was not. But it will be soon.
What, specifically, was the issue with the Library of Congress that this person had to be fired?

It's really a bad idea to put attention-guzzling sociopaths in charge of governments.
What exactly is racist and misogynistic about this? She's also very old and should retire to let millennials and younger lead

Yep.
And why is the President firing the "Librarian of Congress." Shouldn't Congress do that?
Technically there is no defined process for removal of this position. That means the president technically has the authority to do it. This would be different for GAO and CRS.
Does it really mean that?

+1 Or an accusation of having committed assault. The reality is that there are few Black women who will be able to keep a senior position in this administration, despite being more principled and competent than the Trump officials around them.
The irony is that Trump’s racist job practices are demonstrating exactly why DEI efforts are still required. Discrimination against minority populations is a fact of life in all human societies - it doesn’t simply vanish at the fifty year mark.
