Honestly, Savannah gives me the creeps.

It's all that Spanish moss!

And the slave markets in the middle of the city!

To clarify, this is an educational/historic site. Lots of history in Charleston, like Fort Sumter.

Yeah but you can't 'wander' there. You have to take a ferry in bumpy water.

NYC and SF--I can't think of other cities that are more pedestrian friendly and NY has Central Park, the High Line which has an urban jungle feel plus the piers so you can go kayaking if you want to feel more "in nature."

SF is also great on foot--we had some lovely walks in Golden Gate park but also ventured out to see the elephant seals just a short drive away.

DC is also very ped friendly, but presumably you already live in the DMV.

Manhattan. No question.

2nd place would be Chicago - esp the neighborhoods.

I'm not sure there's any other metro city - the US is not designed to "wander" sorry. We're a country that is suburban based. We drive. Unless you are visiting a quaint little town, *major* cities include NYC, Chicago and maybe LA/SF. That's it. Hey I love Philly + Charleston but let's be real.

Not the US, but Vancouver is lovely on foot.

And +1 to PP who said Philadelphia. I like how the neighborhoods are still distinct.

Charleston is perfect for a 3 day trip.

San Juan is also lovely.

Really? No. Native and we have no walkable neighborhoods
