In the private sector and never had WFH. Office was open during the shutdowns.

I want it to go back! Traffic is killing us. DH had some WFH and it was great for family life. We had so much more flexibility and were more connected.

RTO has been great on productivity though. People can’t just hide out in Zoomland as easily. People can see the files stacking up. Everyone knows who’s cranking out stuff.

Instead, I'm just taking full days of leave. Work is piled sky high at work due to this and also because so many people quit. Unsustainable.

Man Up. My Mom had a job, my wife's mom had a job. We went to school sick all the time. I dont recall a single time my Mom or Dad took off cause I was sick.

I do recall once the nurse called my Mom at work and said there is a problem as I am sick, my Mom said sounds like your problem.

No school is OK with this in 2025.

+1. Fever over 100 degrees and they have to go home.

I did 3 days in office pre Covid. Returning to preCOVID stance would be better than this.

I've been 5 days/week since April 2023. Took some time off for birth of a kid, but soooooo glad we stayed in our house in DC only a 12 minute drive to our downtown offices.

We had a lot of friends and neighbors leave DC during COVID for far-flung suburbs. And now they are struggling with RTO, both federal and private sector.

We are home by 530 everyday with our kids.

How can trump do this to us?? I mean, just WHY??!?

Reading this sounds exhausting. I always worked opposite of traffic and for low wages. Didn't take long to replace my low income with passive income and stop working.
I sit at home and chill while they are at school. Both are old enough to get to school without me. Life is awesome finally.

Your parents were selfish not to make arrangements to keep you home. My dad worked from home and I’m in my 59s when we were sick.

I'm sorry your parents did not sufficiently show you care as a child.

I commuted to the office three days per week pre 2020, WFH two days. It made a big difference in my quality of life. I live relatively far from the office, due to the location of my husband's job, so that we both have somewhat equal commutes.

Frankly, I’d quit. You’ll never get this time back. I just hope it ends before long, it’s unsustainable.

Not everyone can afford to quit. Jobs are scarce.
