I love both those cities but feel like some of the Pittsburgh suggestions above are better for a 10 year old versus an 18 year old. Chicago will have more for an 18 year old. architectural tour, various museums, shopping, theater, music venues and concerts, festivals in summer, incredible eating at all price points with tremendous variety of cuisine. But no shade on Pittsburgh which is also great. But there’s a reason Chicago is America’s second city.

Kind of a side note, would you say Chicago is more interesting to visit in the summer than Seattle?
