We wish you'd leave too!

Why? Then you'd have nothing to whine about.

The President is telling parents how many dolls to buy. But his billionaire friends can buy 30 dolls for their bratty, entitled kids.

Take that suckers.
And soon, Burgermeister Meisterburger will declare all toys to be illegal, and that Kris Kringle fellow, a.k.a. Santa Clause, will be sent to Guatanimo.

My God this! I can't imagine any of these white suburban women living through the Depression or any of the World Wars. Or prohibition. Or not having the right to vote.

We have it better here than literally any other country and yet the sky is perpetually falling for some of you.

Get some perspective. Get some therapy. Understand how good we have it. And for the love of God quit whining.

How old are you that you’ve never taken a history class or read books by George Orwell?

+1 plenty of Europeans were enjoying the 1920s with absolutely no clue what would happen in 1939. Some of my own ancestors who came through Ellis even briefly moved back to the home country, they were so comfortable with the situation back then. Never say never.

New subtopic - have you seen brain rot?
It’s the type of entertainment that I hate.
My teen showed me some she likes and thinks is silly/funny. She is not usually this type of kid.

I hate it so much. It made me fear for the future. And it feels different than satanic panic. I’m over being an old and just not liking the young people stuff. It is a huge regression in culture. And some kids don’t have access to anything good. It’s terrible

For reference, please see: John Pork, Agent 5.5, other animal type characters. It’s the worst thing I can imagine (ok I can imagine worse)

What sucks about now is that we (ie, Trump et al.) are gleefully courting all the usual disasters--economic collapse, international instability, trashing of science, expansion of poverty, etc etc.

It's not that we may face one big trial; it's that we are toying with a bunch of them at once, and the circumstance is totally self-inflicted.

We've accumulated a couple millenia's worth of knowledge just to chuck it inside some we can live by Trump's + billionaires whims.

Historically, these are pretty good times. This isn't the Great Depression. This isn't WWII. This isn't a war of independence. Right now we have a recession to get through because of some poor political choices. But that can be fixed. Things aren't that bad. I think optimistic parenting is still fine.
