How do you know it was for 15 min? Maybe she took a video and then pulled the stroller in the shade. If it was for entire 15 min and the nanny kept 20 ft away from my kid then she would not be my nanny anymore. In that case,I am sorry, I would have to say you hired a stupid person.

People like you are the worst. I stand by my comment that I thought you were nuts, but this confirms it. You’ll look for the worst and assume the worst. Your nanny did something nice and sent you a cute video of your child in line. However, you jumped to a dramatic, incorrect and crazy conclusion about the baby waiting in the sun and your nanny chilling in the shade.
I can’t imagine what you’re assuming in other situations when this is what you assume on an innocuous situation. Maybe you should stay home and raise your own child.

I'd like to think that. She is a new nanny so it is hard to tell. It's not just really about sun protection, it's about a fundamental lack of care and thoughtfulness. She is putting herself before the baby.
I've only found one nanny in 13 years who treated my children like they were her own and didn't put herself first. She's a mom herself but her kids are out of the house now. All of the others would have done what you described.

Is the nanny your employee or do you know the parents and saw it? If the latter, I would want to be told, but in a way that makes it clear the person telling me will understand that I get to do what I want with the information.
My employee. She sent me a video of her doing this. (The video was from her perspective of her in the shade, and showed the baby in the stroller in the line.) DH says to give her the benefit of the doubt and that maybe she just sent me the video to show that there was a line.
Quit your job and take care of your own kid. I would never expect anyone to stand in sun for 15 minutes and you don't know how long your child was in the sun. My rep complaining and you will be looking for a new nanny.
