You should not have brought your kid into the discussion. Don't open the door because it allows people to walk through it.

A colleague said to check out Virginia Development Academy or Union but any other recommendations? They said to stay away from Arlington; something about that coach getting let go from a university program.

We also haven’t ruled out GA if we can find a good program so any recommendations would be appreciated.

My daughter plays in Arlington and LOVES the GK coaching staff, so to each their own I guess

We left Arl for McLean last yr. Best decision ever. Training (Coach) was more into herself than coaching at Arl.

A little research into the background on each GK coach in the area would help as well since this is such a specialized position. You can google most of them, they range in experience from rec dad coach to national team experience.

Out there that knows what the 2010 GK situation looks like for all clubs within driving distance. They all play each other. They all do camps
Together. I was just stating a fact that the community is small and the small community talks.

Thanks. DD is a GK on her HS team so I watch threads like this when they go by to see if there's any training that makes sense to offer her. Mainly trying to help a little with her confidence since it's a tough position to take on with all the other pressures of being 16. I didn't really understand the dynamic with the GKs from different clubs training together at camps/etc, but it's nice to hear about the comradery. We're relatively new to this but it definitely feels different on the sidelines than the experience of the field players families.
