I think you skipped the part where PP said hockey "is a money pit and a road to nowhere"—strongly second this. Basketball is a conflicting winter sport - do that instead of ice hockey. Your welcome.


This might be true but the people that play love it and it's a life long sport, meaning you can play in beer leagues forever!

the best thing you can do is get your kid into a sport that can be done by walking down the street. My kids both play basketball and how that the weather is warm they are always at the courts. my youngest has lacrosse practice before school and he’s never home until closer to dinner due to bball. Basketball is so nice to have. My oldest son is at college and just outside his dorms are courts and I see him in 360 out there all the time. plus basketball is so great for cardio.

Gearing up for a sport and securing field time is annoying.
