This. The chief alludes to this person having some mental health issues. The real failure is lack of universal health care, and sufficient mental health providers. That's the societal failure. Police are the ones who are left to pick up the pieces, and that's why they get blamed.

The real blame is on politicians and other people in positions of power who don't appropriately meet societal needs. Until they do, there will be officer involved shootings. Progressive politicians love to divert blame to police so nobody watches as they do NOTHING to solve the underlying problems.

People like OP always want to believe that there are tons of George Floyd’s out there. But it’s been five years, and every time they hope for another story like his, their hopes are dashed as it turns out that the media and public are not interested in claims that we should be more sympathetic to violent black men wielding guns and knives than police officers trying to protect us. Remember how body worn cameras were supposed to expose police brutality — well, the opposite happened.
