Trump knows more about medicine than any doctor. His uncle taught at MIT, you know.

The authoritarian slant of the current administration is digging deeper and deeper. Clear intention to infringe on freedom of speech.

The DC AG is investigating 3 medical journals over whether they are biased in the scientific articles they review and publish. Sent a letter of questions requiring a response by May 2nd.

DP to add, there should be plenty for him to deal with in DC to help DC residents which should be his focus. Why is he wasting his time and our tax payer dollars on this?

The DC AG doesn't prosecute street crimes the way other AGs do. So this is totally with the purview of the office that he was elected to fill.

He is prob compromised by Russia given his 150 guest appearances on Russian State TV to share MAGA talking points.

This "AG" appeared on Russian State TV 150 times.

U.S. Senate Democratic Whip Dick Durbin (D-IL), Ranking Member of the Senate Judiciary Committee, today released the following statement regarding reports that Ed Martin, President Donald Trump’s pick to be U.S. Attorney for D.C., appeared on RT and Sputnik—networks funded and directed by the Russian government—150 times as a guest commentator from August 2016 to April 2024, something he failed to disclose in his Senate Judiciary Committee questionnaire:

“It is well-documented that Ed Martin is a Donald Trump loyalist who has embraced a Nazi sympathizer and attacked law enforcement who kept lawmakers and staff safe during the January 6 insurrection. The 150 undisclosed appearances Mr. Martin has made on Russian state media as recently as April of last year—as Russia was actively bombing Ukraine—raises further serious questions about whether he has the temperament to serve as U.S. Attorney, concerns that have been underlined by his misconduct as Interim U.S. Attorney.

DC crimes is prosecuted out of the USAG office.

No. They are handled by US Attorney 's Office for DC.

Doesn't it depend on age of the offender?

This is not the DC Attorney General. This is the US Attorney General for the District of Columbia. The two positions are not the same and have different authority. It is akin to the NY AG is different for the USAG for NY. Two different positions with different authorities and responsibilities.

It is not the US Attorney General for DC either. There is such office. It is the US Attorney for the District of Columbia.

Whatever their role, is it supposed to be focused on legal concerns for the residents of DC?

Surely, there are more pressing matters deserving the attention of the US attorney for DC?

I'm a scientist who publishes. This is likely another DEI probe- journals are often asking authors to address how they have handled items such as lack of racial diversity of their samples and other DEI considerations. These are instructions to authors that are publicly displayed on the websites.

To what end though? Bullying, intimidation, silence?

This is the letter that was sent by DOJ.

I think it's more related to COVID.

Bhattacharya is a signatory on letters calling peer-reviewed papers in Science and elsewhere that support a natural origin for SARS-Cov-2 “potentially products of scientific misconduct—including fraud” and deserving of retraction—a stance the journals have rejected. He has also been highly critical of the COVID-19 views of Science Editor-in-Chief Holden Thorp.

"Bhattacharya was a lead author of a serology study released in April 2020 that suggested that as many as 80,000 residents of Santa Clara County, California, might have already been infected with SARS-CoV-w.[21] The study's design, conduct, statistical analysis, and conclusions were widely criticized as flawed.[22][23][24] JetBlue's former owner David Neeleman contributed $5,000 to Stanford University for the research, according to a whistleblower report; however, the researchers involved stated they had no knowledge of this funding"
