Now? Not worth it. I do not enjoy it. It messes with my sleep, it makes me pee throughout the night, I wake up sweaty or tired...the short-lived buzz doesn't outweigh the longer-term after-effects.
Anyone else? I feel like an old lady!!

I could have written this. Same age, same things happen. I used to drink a lot when I was younger, and nothing happened. Now I get a headache almost immediately after 1 glass of wine, my cheeks get flushed, and I feel hungover for a day.

Me too! Yay for mocktails & cbd

Slowly increased my intake over time and now I have wine and beer in the house that my spouse and I drink maybe one night a week.

I’ve been thinking lately about going back to my pre-21 days but it annoys me that the people who drank to get drunk from age 15-35 now seem to be leading the charge on the “we should all stop drinking because it’s bad for you” movement with great gusto and an air of superiority.
Yeah, this actually isn’t new information. We are in our 50s now but we knew this about alcohol. Your sudden evangelical abstinence isnt actually fresh or novel. Just quit already if you want. No need for a lecture or fanfare.

Why are you so weird?

Yes. I do not drink anymore but still socialize and go out often and love it. I can't imagine feeling yucky again.

60 here. It tastes awful to me now and makes me sick. Don’t miss it. Ever giving up dessert though lol.

Drank like a fish in my 20/30s. Can’t stand the stuff anymore.

So I find that I'm all or nothing. If I have one or two glasses of wine? I can't sleep and feel terrible the next day. If I have 4 old fashioneds (cue DCUM "you are an alcoholic) I'm great- sleep great and feel fine the next day. I guess I'm done with wine? Makes me sad though. Like writing off an old friend.

I was always the type of person who nursed a drink for almost a whole evening and now I don’t want it all. Also, I’m been very overweight for the past ten years… cannot seem to lose 40 pounds. I guess I guess my body no longer wants alcohol on top of that.

Yep - stopped entirely at 43. Just not worth the terrible sleep and hot flashes.

Nope 50 and would kill myself if I couldn’t drink.

In my 40s and starting a couple years ago, I just could not drink like I used to. I enjoyed having a couple drinks out with friends.

It is just not usually worth the hangover, the terrible sleep and being exhausted the next day. I much prefer tea now. I will occasionally treat myself for a special occasion but I don't even drink once a month anymore.
