You just want to be alone in your house. I get it. Hire a cleaning service and then lie around in your bathrobe. Alone. Blissss!

Another teacher here. This is what I do every spring break. I can’t afford to travel, so I give myself the gift of a clean house!

100% there is something really disturbing about a woman taking time off from her work to clean so she doesn't disturb her husband who typically WORKS FROM HOME (and yes, I WAH for many years, I know you are actually working and not cleaning - but you can squeeze in as breaks, etc. some cleaning)

By all means ->> Go for it!

I would definitely use the four days to get in a good spring cleaning 🧽!

Nothing feels better than a good reset, a clean 🧼 + organized living space is one of life’s greatest luxuries.

It will be the best use of time I promise!

I take off occasionally when my husband goes to the office. I love being home alone and it rarely happens! I want to want to clean enough to actually do it 😂 II usually nap and binge tv. Or garden/sneak more plants in from garden center

Do what you like but I can’t imagine wasting vacation time like this. I’d do a solo trip when he was back home if I had extra days to spare.

...but also why can't you blast music through airpods? That's what I do when I clean because I might go from room to room doing chores and changing areas and the music goes with me. Or podcasts.

Sure. If you can do it without creating ill will at work I'd do it.

I was JUST thinking about how nice it would be if my WFH husband cleared out for a few days. He has a standing weekend activity that last a few hours, but other than that, he’s home. I love him, but I would love a week in the house alone to do my own thing.

Not more than 1-2 days.

I hate cleaning when other people are around. I definitely save bigger jobs for when I'm home alone. So yes, if you're going to do the deep cleaning yourself and you have the time, I would absolutely take advantage of the opportunity to do it uninterrupted while your DH is away.

Yes, totally. I’d love a week like this. Don’t plan personal stuff - keep an unstructured schedule so you can work on tasks as you feel like it without feeling pressured to be at an appt at a certain time.

I'd hire someone to do the actual cleaning. The organizing and the sorting out, I'd do myself.

I’d love to! But I can’t take time off.
