I love to compliment other women! Kindness costs nothing, and it makes most* people feel good. I used to always think nice things but never say them; what’s the point of that! Spread the nice stuff around as much as possible. So now, if I think something nice about someone, I try to tell them.

*not all as illustrated by this thread, but still most.

I like compliments on things I have control over - or that dress looks great on you, your hair is pretty, you carry yourself well, you’re well spoken, those glasses really compliment your features.

Compliments like “wow you’re so beautiful” fall flat because they are too broad, and don’t feel genuine. And I definitely don’t like compliments on my body (nice rack, legs, etc).

I get complimented on my hair fairly often. It’s auburn and I hated it when I was a kid. Now I love it and appreciate the comments.

Compliments used to make me uncomfortable when I was young.
Now in my mid-50s, I really appreciate it.

It happens to me, and I think it is really nice 99% of the time. Recently, I was walking down the street and a delivery guy going buy said I looked " fine". He asked if I " had a man". I said yes and that I am 69 years old. He thought I was joking. It made my day.

Get a lot of compliments on my grey/white hair. Now my natural color. Probably get one compliment a week from strangers. The best one I get occasionally is, "I wish I had the guts."

I wont comment on someone being pretty, especially since genetics cannot be controlled- but when I see someone with great fashion I will let them know I appreciate it, like I love those shoes.

I used to get compliments alot. Now that I'm 42 I get less compliments. They are more sporadic now but I love it.
