I would not take a personal phone or computer out of the country. TSA scans what is incoming and if they find any anti-trump content, confiscation and arrest happens. Ask the Michigan Lawyer who was detained last week if I am being hyperbolic.

At ANY national border, not just the US border, one has no rights at all. International law is pretty clear about that. And in any country customs do not need probable cause to search anything at any national border. It might be news to some, but it ought not be a surprise.
Within 100 miles of any border, you don't have any rights. The more you know.

What kind of idiot do you have to be to post a link to support the claim that you “have no rights” and then the very link you post proceeds to catalogue your rights.
A MAGA idiot, obviously. Same intellect that brought us tariffs on penguins and thinks measles should be treated with vitamins and that military plans are safe on signal.
Well, that's the ACLU's idea of your rights. I suspect the border agents see it differently.
No dummy, that’s the Supreme Court and the US Constitution. Last I checked they still best whatever the ICE mouth breathers hot take of the law is, but maybe not in the authoritarian dictatorship we are now apparently living in.

This is so scary, but very believable. I think Trump behaves so erratically that is is hard for most of us to imagine what’s possible because we are operating from a frame of reference founded on values and norms that he does not follow. He’s playing by rules we do not understand and cannot predict.

Are you all aware that both local and federal governments have the technology to suck all the data out of your cell phone on an every day basis if you are in the vicinity of where they install the technology?
They install the technology on tall posts, often on cell towers.
The old technology was called "Stingrays". I believe they have an even more invasive technology now.
There's a stingray tower across from the entrance to the private school Madeira in Great Falls if you're curious.
Again, these devices scoop up information from every cellphone that is in its vicinity.

Because when they took your phone and you have facial recognition installed. They hold it up to your face and the phone unlocks.
Sure but then they can direct you to unlock your phone with your passcode. If you refuse, they could seize your phone.
Right, they seize your phone. But it’s locked. So it’s an inconvenience when you have to replace it. But you’re not being arrested for your social media posts or texts. When the phone unlocks with facial recognition, they don’t hand it back to you. They go through all your personal information. I’d rather have my phone seized. Enjoy that expensive brick.
I have absolutely nothing to hide. Zero. Zilch. However, I have never, ever posted my political views online nor do I post anything incriminating on social media. Maybe you should have thought twice before posting your online rant. They can look through my phone all they want.
You are the problem. How dare you suggest people need to think twice before posting online in order to avoid being hassled by the government. We have First Amendment rights. If you think like that just move to Russia because you see a traitor to our country and the Constitution.
