Republicans deserve to get wiped out in the midterm elections. I’ve voted a lot of split tickets but not any time soon again with Trump wiping out the economy and destroying the nest egg we worked decades to accumulate.

There have been 16 special elections held so far this year, both state legislative and congressional. Democrats have outperformed their margin of victory or defeat from the November elections (Trump/Harris) by about 11 points, overperforming in 14 of 16 of them. Republicans have largely won in deep red districts, but at significantly lower margins than Trump did, and we're not even 3 months into the Trump presidency. For instance, the democratic candidates lost Florida's 1st, but by 22 points less compared to Harris. They lost Florida's 6th by 16 points less than Harris did in November. In the Wisconsin state Supreme court race, Susan Crawford beat Schimel by 10 points, whereas Trump won by about 1 point in the fall.

I'm watching our entire retirement savings completely tank today, while my dh is worried he's going to be laid off at age 62.

Here is the daily reminder that nothing in the Constitution prohibits persons in Congress from being recalled and triggering a special election.
Yes it will face court battles but at this point so what. It’s not like many are doing the job and I would use their failing to show up for town halls (and their leadership actually saying they shouldn’t) as basis of them not being representative leadership of the people.

What in the world could tank someone's political career these days? Trump is a convicted felon. Most people surrounding him are mediocre at best, and insane, or drunks/drug addicts, or worse. There is no integrity standard anymore. People can be as gross as they please. As long as they say the right thing, people will re-elect them forever.
