In what way? The humanities kids who are mostly white are artificially cohorted into special classes away from the rest of the school that is majority minority. It's a great program but I wouldn't say it has a more relaxed social environment. There are cliques just like any place else. I guess DD would say the difference is that for certain kids it's easier to find your clique there, like if you're a drama kid.
Completely and respectfully disagree. My child is there now and while there are many white kids in the program, because of the in- bounds preference and the other catchment schools, there is significant diversity in the program and among friend groups.
Pyle is significantly less diverse in all ways. And too much popular kid drama. The white kids segregate themselves way more at Pyle than elsewhere.
